A local focus on connecting people who want a place to work
Wheretowork Ltd (now trading as Ware to Work) was founded in October 2020 by Ware resident in response to the need following the first Lockdown to be able to work away from home, keeping some of the benefits of being at home, but also seeking the positives of office working. It is a coworking space that offers flexible desk space for freelancers, business owners, employees, or even people studying, who want a break from the home office.
I’m giving people the option to work from somewhere different and support their local high street at the same time. The flexibility of what we offer allows you to be in the town centre when you need it, as part of a friendly working community.
About Marina
My family and I have lived in Ware since 2010, our youngest child was born here and all three boys go to school locally. I remember the first time I visited on a sunny day in late spring, I walked up the High Street and thought “this feels like a good place to live”.
I have been interested in exploring ideas and opportunities to provide spaces that support creativity, connection, and community across the ages.

I am interested in how the creative practices of “mending” and “making” give opportunity to share experience, knowledge and tools even. To build new friendships and connections, renew old ones. How it can make us feel more human. This led to a desire to run some sort of business or social enterprise that encourages and supports connection and creativity.
As we started to emerge from Lockdown, these ideas came together with the needs of myself and many office workers to get back to some of the benefits of office working, but locally, without the commute. I started to explore co-working and realised that there was a new group of people who would be wanting office space, not only freelancers, entrepreneurs and small businesses, but people who had been commuting to office jobs and probably wouldn’t be doing so in the same way from now on.
Ware to Work is born
It seemed obvious that if more people were working locally then our High Street would benefit. Even though banks and shops have closed in recent years, other new shops have opened, and these, along with long-standing local businesses would benefit from more people working in the Town Centre. So, I founded Ware to Work.
